So, you think you would like to grow Christmas trees in Vermont?
Timing right now is great! Older growers are retiring and younger people have other professions in mind.
There is evidence of a tree shortage caused by some of the above but also because of dry conditions in some of the other growing states. Vermont is known for its moisture, cool nights and cool soil. All that is needed for robust Christmas tree growth!
Before you take the leap, understand that soil conditions do vary not all fields will produce!

Our association works with communities, state of Vermont, UVM, consumers and the growers to make the Christmas tree industry all it can be. Including:
- Assure that the tradition and spirit of Christmas remain.
- Help transition the older growers to the younger ones.
- Encourage growing the natural balsam fir tree as a form of land use in Vermont.
- And most of all, keep Christ in Christmas! The holiest of all days!
